Ceiling fans provide a variety of benefits. They save on energy costs, sometimes by a significant amount, and often serve double duty as lighting in a space. They are stylish and can be used in every room of your home—including outdoors. Ceiling fans, including flush mount models, also offer year-round energy value due to their efficient motors and fan blades. In addition to cooling rooms during the warm months, you can reverse a fan to improve the efficiency of heating during the winter.Ceiling fans come in a variety of styles and are able to suit any type of decor. No matter how you’ve decorated your home or what your priority might be in a given space, there is a ceiling fan available to suit your needs. One of the most popular types of ceiling fans are cage enclosed fans. This unique twist on a traditional fan is making its way into homes across the country. Many people love these fans just for their functionality, but others are falling in love with the way they look, too. What do you need to know about cage enclosed ceiling fans and what are some of the best options available?Minka-Aire Vintage Gyro 42″ Dual Ceiling FanThis fan features a unique design that harkens to early 20th century design. It doesn’t come with a light kit, but it is light kit adaptable if you want your fan to serve double duty.Savoy House Alsace 26” Ceiling FanThis little guy from Savoy is one of our favorites because it is a blend of a chandelier and ceiling fan. It’s one of our favorite “fandaliers” on the market. The design was inspired by Wine Country and the wine barrels used in French vineyards. We think it goes great with rustic design, but would especially suit a Tuscan or wine-inspired design. The fan is made from a reclaimed wood finish and has chestnut blades. We consider it an upscale, sophisticated design that many people will love. It comes with a 75-watt illumination feature and would be perfect in smaller kitchens or even a wine cellar!Savoy House Circulaire 3 Headed Ceiling FanThis model is another one we love from the Savoy Company. If you’re looking for a cage ceiling fan that suits contemporary and/or transitional décor, this is the one for you. It features three functioning fans that are adjustable. Each of the fans features twin beechwood blades that complement the English Bronze finish of the body and cages. It features two caged fans that are mounted on a brushed nickel body. Its sleek design is great for modern spaces, but could also suit transitional or contemporary designs. The fans feature aluminum blades which we think are stunning. Both fans have 36” blade spans that are adjustable. We love how the design combines clean lines, but can still suit a casual environment. The fan comes with a variable speed wall control but does not have a remote control. It’s an indoor fan that is light kit adaptable. Light kits are available separately. These are just a few of the caged ceiling fans available, but we think they are some of the best. We’ve included fans on the list that will suit a variety of decor, but we find the caged design to work best in contemporary, modern, or transitional spaces. We also love it with edgier décor, such as industrial looks and there are a few options we’d love in rustic spaces.Fans are available in a variety of price ranges and many models feature affordable versions that are modeled after the more expensive options. If you find something you love but it’s out of your budget, don’t worry—there might be something else available that suits your style and fits your budget. Our tip for choosing the right fan?Consider your space and shop around. You might even pull a few pictures of fans you like and look at them while sitting in the space where you plan to install the fan. Like paint colors and other decor choices, sometimes you need to get a feel for what’s going to work best for you. It’s important you choose a fan that you not only like, but that is well suited for the room where it’s installed.Last, but not least, keep your fan well maintained and clean, so it’ll last you for a long time.
